T.C.M. of Korea Association, one of WFAS members, recently got in fabulous surroundings because of dubious attitude of Ministry for Health, Welfare, and Family Affairs in Korea.

According to Chairman, Geun Sik Cho, they had asked two times to government, wondering if they could do 'Free of Charge based-Voluntary medical service for lots of foreign worker in Korea.

" It's true that Korean medical system can not cover many foreigne workers. We think, most of them have been estranged from Korean society due to different languages and culture " said Cho.

And he contunued, Neverthless we officially asked to government, in accordance with our domestic law, we had not got any news from them until the Association of Korean Oriental Medicine/AKOM went to law with us.

Meanwhile, after AKOM's accusation, Ministry Aug 7 announced that T.M.C. of Korea Association could not do any kind of voluntary service in Korea, looked like following idea of AKOM.

세계침구연합회(WFAS)의 회원이면서, 무료의료봉사를 하려던 (사)대한중의협회가 보건복지가족부의 늑장행정에 곤란을 겪고있다.

최근 조근식 회장에 따르면, 국내거주 외국인 근로자들을 대상으로 무료의료봉사를 하기위해 관게법에 의거, 정식공문을 통해 보건복지가족부에 질의를 했으나, 아무런 회답이 없었다는 것.

이에 조 회장은 정부의 묵인으로 알고 의료봉사를 시작했으나, 대한한의사협회로부터 의료행위를 했다는 이유로 법적 고소를 당했다고 말했다.

고소가 있자보건복지가족부도고민끝에8월 7일 중의협회의 의료봉사는 불가하다는 공문을 보냈다.

한편, 대한중의협회는 중국 중의학대학을 졸업한 한국유학생들의 모임으로대부분 중국의사면허를 가지고 있다.
