[대한뉴스 ] 대만 국민들의 보건안전(保健安全) 기본권(基本權)을 보장을 위해 WHO가입의 지지를 호소하기위해 世界醫師會理事(Council Member of World Medical Association)의 오운동(吳運東)博士가 최근 한국을 방문하였다.
세계의사협회의 이사 次元에서 방한한 대만의 오운동 박사는 臺灣의 2300萬 國民의 보건 안전 기본권 보장을 위해 대만은 의미있는 참여(Meaningful Participation)와 옵서버 신분으로 WHA에 출석 이란 두가지 계획(計劃)을 지속적으로 추진할것 이라며 국제사회(國際社會)가 대만을 WHO의 틀 안에 받아들이는 것은 대만국민뿐 아니라 한국등 이웃국가와 全世界 各國국민의 건강권리(健康權利)에 대한 보장권을 돕는 길이라고 말했다.
9일 방한해 20일 저녁 코리아나 호텔에서 ‘코리아 타임스’, ‘연합뉴스’, 그리고 ‘일간대한뉴스’와 가진 공동 기자간담회에서 오운동 박사는 한국과 대만은 가깝고 民間交流가 빈번하다고 말하면서, 한국이 양자(兩者)간의 전통적(傳統的)우호(友好)를 바탕으로 自由民主主義 공동 가치관(價値觀)에 입각 대만국민들의 건강추구권을 지지해 줄것을 호소했다.
Taipei Physical Education College의 黃月桂 敎授와 함께 내한한 오 박사는 한국의 WHA회의 대표단이 대만을 지지하는 투표나 발언 등을 해주기를 희망한다며 대만 2300만 국민들의 뜻을 표현했다.
한편 이날 간담회에는 ‘천.용.차오’ 駐韓 Taipei 대표부 代表도 참석, 뜻을 같이 하였다.
The Taiwanese medical doctor, Wu Yung-Tung, a Council Member of World Medical Association, visited Korea with Laura Huang, a Prof of Taipei Physical Education College, on 9th May to express Taiwan R.O.C's majority people's idea about its membership of WHO(the World Health Organization), as one of long-pending issues of international society.
Taiwan's bid for WHO membership has been closely related to its campaign for WHA observer status & meaningful participation in WHO activities, with aspiration for the health right of the 23 million people in Taiwan R.O.C.
Through friendly talks with Korean reporters at Koreana hotel on 10 May, he said ' Taiwan's all people, as well as 400,000 foreign residents, I dare to say, still remain left out in the cold, creating a weak spot in the global surveillance system'
And he continued 'It's high time for the WHO and world community to delete the gap by incorporating Taiwan into the WHO system. Because we are extremely willing and able to contribute the world health network' stressing the importance of Taiwan's role in world health society
According to him, this Taiwan's efforts for WHO member does not have any political reason and purpose.
Regarding on joining the WHO under the name 'Taiwan', he said 'It has nothing to do with changing the nation's official name' leaving no misunderstandingfrom international political society.
And he emphasized ' Taiwan's 23 million people's health right should be covered by international health society, furthermore this sincerity can not be used or interpretated anymore by any political purpose'
Chen Y C, the representative of Taipei Mission in Korea, also attended there, giving him a warm welcome.
