Recently one international forum focusing on 'the culture of rivers', which hosted by Hwacheon-Gun(Governer : Jeong Gap Cheol), was held August 1 at Hotel Lotte, Seoul.
This forum was the first to raise the problem of historical & ecological view points on 'Why and How river-side culture in the world'

According to county office, this forum titled of 'Ecological & Cultural Views on rivers' was prepared to remind the importance of various types of culture from world-wide riversides such as the Nile, the Missisippi, and the Mekong etc, as well as share the riverside-originated culture's aroma from abroad.
"Korea will see the first international forum about 'the culture of river' between our human-beings and nature " Governer Jeong said.
He continued, "Considering that human-being and nature have created a perfectly balanced living surroundings in the form of 'Culture', today's forum reminds us of 'How to make a reinterpretation of river-side culture'
"And it will show us the way how to keep the Earth green, where we can find the roadmap to set up 'eco-freindly policy " he added.
Meanwhile, on that day saw that appx 20 distinguished guests from Egypt, Peru, the U.S, and China joined this event, and vigorous Q & A session was followed by participants.
