Shamanism in Korea has been regarded as meaningful part of traditional synthetic cultures. So folklore and cultural anthropology have focused on 'Why' & 'How' shamanism. Recently in Korea, one shaman has been the talk of the town because of his supernatural power as well as charity activity.
So our curiosity was so peaked, and we could have an interview to sketch about something incredible.
“I could get this holly stone after digging in the ground when I had praying for the heavenand earth several years ago. Because at that time I got a divine revelation through my dream " said a Korean Shaman named 'Kim Doryong' said.
According to him, this sanctity stone has been buried for more 900 years.
" Due to this stone, In another word, after I placed it in our shrine, I am able to cure incurable illness " he continued.
His shamanism philosophy is very particular because it's filled with charity and social service for the poor, though he's a shaman only.
" I think this message for my voluntary social service had come from the heaven. So I just only do holly mission, following the heaven's will "
According to local government, Kwang-Ju city where he lives, he has spread lots of financial supports for the people who had been in need.
" His beautiful social service and aspiration toward the poor seems to be pure and sincere. Because he used to do free service " they said.
Generally speaking, The Shaman is a human-being with religious authority, who is believed to be able to talk to spirits, cure illness, and omen whether good or bad.
Q 1) When did you become a shaman ?
A 1) It was when I was 39 years old. At that time I was a teacher.
But one day I could accept a spiritism delivered by high-positioned gods, some of that were very famous military leaders in Korea's history.
Q 2) So far as we know, you had supported financially for so many adolescent heads of family. Besides, you help a lot for their studying at universities. What's its background ?
A 2) Nothing to brag about it. It is a message from the Heaven only !
Q 3) You have received the oracle from gods. because a shaman is a human-being who can act as a agent for the heaven or gods.
Can you say about your future, as a disciple of god ?
A 3) I had followed god's words. And I am doing it continously.
So I will more faithfully follow gods and the heaven...That's all !
