특허청 발명특허-‘Q'마크 획득 등 제품 품질 공인

전력 사정이 다시 살얼음판을 걸어야 할 위기를 맞고 있다. 전력 수요가 많은 겨울이 다가오고 있는 것이다. 불과 두어 달 전인 지난 여름 연일 가마솥더위가 계속되면서 전력 수요가 8000만㎾를 넘나들면서 예비전력은 위험대를 오갔다. 예비전력이 100만㎾ 밑으로 떨어지면 특정 지역의 전기를 순차적으로 끊는 순환단전이 실시된다. 2년 전 악몽을 다시 겪게 되는 것이다. 2011년 9월 15일 예비전력이 24만㎾로 떨어지자 정부는 예고도 없이 공장과 주택의 전기를 강제로 끊었다. 엄청난 혼란과 수천 억 원대의 손실이 따랐다.

산업통상자원부 등 당국은 대국민 절전 운동을 호소하고 있다. 듣고 있으면 분통이 터지는 이들이 적지 않다. 전기를 펑펑 쓰는 것도 아닌데 왜 해마다 조건반사 하듯이 국민에게 절전을 강요하느냐는 불만이다. 하지만 그래도 동참해야 한다. 전기를 아껴 쓰려는 의식이 무족한 사람들이 상당수인데다, 대재앙을 앉아서 당할 수는 없기 때문이다. 블랙아웃 상황이 오면 국민에게는 최악이다. 당국이 국민에게 읍소해 위기를 넘기는 것은 임시방편일 수밖에 없다. 친환경적 발전량 확충과 전기 절감 방안을 내놓아야 한다. 투 트랙(Two track)을 통한 근본 대책이 시급한 것이다.

전기요금 반으로 줄어 가정·국가경제에 기여

이런 현실에서 전기를 획기적으로 줄일 수 있는 절전장치인 ‘애니홈 세이버’를 개발한 (주)애니홈스 김관수 대표이사가 국내외적으로 주목받고 있다.

‘애니홈 세이버’는 전력 소비에 있어 전압과 전류의 불균형이 저항에 의해 발생되는 위상차를 제거해주는 장치이다. 이는 전력 소비 감소는 물론 전자제품의 수명연장까지 효과가 있는 친환경 제품이라서 소비자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다. 김관수 대표는 “‘애니홈 세이버’는 특히 전기를 많이 쓰는 가정에 꼭 필요하다”고 말했다. 정부에서는 ‘전기요금 누진제’를 적용, 6단계로 나누어 전기사용량에 따라 요금이 부과하는데 한 단계만 낮아져도 전기요금이 거의 반으로 줄어들기에 가정의 살림살이에 톡톡히 도움을 주고, 국가경제에도 크게 기여한다는 설명이다.

‘애니홈 세이버’가 여타 제품에 비해 갖는 탁월한 특성은 전기제품에서 발생하는 고조파(高調波· Harmonics), 곧 주파수가 높은 전자기파를 제거함으로써 전기제품을 오래 사용할 수 있고 전기요금 또한 대폭 줄일 수 있다는 사실이다. 특수 설계된 콘덴서와 직류 리엑터를 이용해 전력회사로부터 공급되는 전압의 변동 없이 역률을 개선하고 무효전력을 감소시키는 원리를 적용했는가 하면, 회로에 병렬로 투입해 성능을 극대화하도록 설계했다고 한다.

김 대표는 “우리 제품을 설치한 후 전기 절감 사례가 속속 발표되면서 문의 및 주문이 쇄도하고 있다. 국민 개개인과 기업단위에서 절전을 실천하고자 하는 의지가 반영된 것으로 보인다”며 “적재적소에 사용된다면 가정과 나라 경제에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

실제 ‘애니홈 세이버’를 사용하고 있는 경험자들은 가정용의 경우 40% 정도 절전효과를 보고 있다. 월 15만원 청구되는 전기요금이 3만원으로 대폭 줄어드는 사례가 있을 정도다. 한 달에 100kw 정도 전기를 아낀 셈이다. ‘애니홈 세이버’는 콘센트에 꽂기만 하면 절전 효과를 보기에 사용의 편의성까지 갖추고 있다. 사용자들이 눈으로 직접 확인하기에 믿음을 주고 있는 것이다. 기존 전기절감기는 플러그 형식이 아니어서 쓰기가 불편한데다 비싸고, 효과마저 미미해서 소비자들이 외면했다.

이러한 노력 결과 (주)애니홈스 가족은 개가를 올리게 된다. ‘애니홈 세이버’가 전력품질개선장치 제품의 안전성 및 소비자의 신뢰 확보를 통해 △특허청 발명특허(제10-1174819호) △공인기관인 한국기계전기전자시험연구원의 품질 ‘Q'마크 획득 △한국전기안전공사 인증센터로부터 제품시험성적서 발급받음으로써 제품의 품질을 공인받은 것이다. 그뿐만 아니다. ‘애니홈 세이버’는 KIPA 주최 2012년 서울국제발명전시회에서 러시아과학협회가 수여하는 특별상을 받았을 뿐만 아니라 발명진흥회로부터도 금상을 수상을 했다. 양질의 전기 공급, 역률 개선 효과, 전력품질 향상, 소음·진동·과열방지·제품보호 및 수명 연장, 탄소배출 감소 등 탁월한 효과를 보이고 있는데 대한 인증이다.

‘방송 오보’로 시련, 당국 공인받고 성장세 지속

김 대표는 어느 정도 부(富)를 모으면 학교 설립을 하고자 한다. 집안 형편이 어려워 정규 학교를 제때 다니지 못하고 초등학교 졸업 후 주경야독으로 검정고시를 통해 상급학교에 진학, 대학 교수를 하기까지 그는 여력이 되면 학교를 세워 미래세대들이 마음껏 학업을 할 수 있게 돕고 싶다는 소망을 키워 왔다. 김 대표는 이 같은 더 큰 꿈을 실현하기 위해 2002년 유명 J대학 교수직을 사임하고 ‘21세기 꿈을 현실화하는 기업인’으로 새로운 길을 걷고 있다.

그가 평소 지녔던 육영사업의 꿈을 확실하게 결심하게 한 것은 필리핀 오지 탐험 중 한 한국인 선교사가 현지인들에게 무한한 사랑을 베푸는 모습을 보면서, 자신은 국내외 구분 없이 젊은이들의 내일을 열어주는 교육에 힘써야겠다는 결심을 했다는 설명이다. 김 대표는 “교육이야말로 가정, 기업, 나라는 물론 세계평화 실현을 위한 가장 중요한 방편이자 당위적 과제”라며 “삶의 고비마다 후원을 받았던 제 경험에 비춰 이젠 제가 보답하는 사랑의 멘토가 되고 싶다”고 강조했다.

김 대표의 사회 공익을 생각하는 기업 철학이 확고하건만 일시적 시련도 있다. 지난 8월 MBC의 “이름만 전기 절전기 … ” 보도로 인해 적잖은 타격을 입었다. 하지만 ‘애니홈 세이버’의 성능을 아는 소비자들의 흔들림 없는 애호로 (주)애니홈스의 성장세는 계속되고 있다는 설명이다.

김 대표는 “전기 절감 테스트를 하기 위해 E유통회사와 합의 하에 ‘애니홈 세이버’ 6개를 14일간(4월 17일∼30일) 설치해 절전비율을 비교한 결과 약 12∼15%의 절감효과가 나타났고 철수했는데도, 방송사는 ‘효과가 거의 미미해서 (전기 절감기를) 철수한 상황’이라고 보도한 것은 사실과 다르다. 우리는 ‘절전장치 사용 전후 전력량 측정표’를 증거로 제시해 객관성을 담보했다”며 “제품 성능에 대해 제조사에 최소한의 사실 확인절차도 없이 일방적으로 보도를 한 것은 공영방송으로서 무책임한 일이다. 언론 자유 못지않게 언론이 지켜야 할 윤리와 책임 또한 크다. ‘반론권 누락’ 등 취재 보도의 완결성이 갖춰지지 않은 방송 보도로 인해 여타 건실한 중소기업이 다시는 이 같은 어려움을 당해선 안 될 것”이라고 주문했다.

We have a crisis of electricity to be more careful to use again since we are going to have winter that people use lots of energy. If the backup power drops under 1 million KW, certain areas would start being stopped gradually. It means we probably might experience a nightmare that we went through 2 years ago. 'Anyhome Saver' got awarded a special prize given by Russia Science Association at the Seoul International Invention Exhibition and got a gold prize from Invention Promotion Association.

From these facts, naturally, many people are getting this energy saver and many agencies open to sell. CEO Kim's motto is TRUST, by the way. "No Trust, No Next Product. So I always care about Trust." He showed his plan for industrial electricitysaver, which is not open yet but he is preparing for manufacturing and distributing perfectly in the future. His goal is very clear in a way. Bitter time due to false report on TV but keep continuing the growthwith an official recognition by the government

CEO Kim wants to establish a school when he feels money is enough to do that. When he was younger, he couldn't study properly because of his poor family. He didn't go to normal schools but had to do for himself working during the day and studying at night. After all, he passed qualification exam to enter the upperschools after the elementary school and became a college professor. For that reason, he has been hoping to build up a school to help our young but poor youth for the future as a wish. CEO Kim quitted a professor of famous 'J' university in 2002 in order to make his dream like that and took a big new step being a businessman who is realizing 21st century.

Specifically, there was a motif that he made up his mind. A crucial reason was when he saw a Korean missionary who were giving his love to the local people living in a remote area in Philippines while he was adventuring outback exploration in there and then, he thought he would like to contribute himself for education. He emphasized, "Education is the most importantmethod and the most normative assignment for realizing the global peace including family, company and even country. Every time I had a hard time, I got support from someone and it is time for me to return the reward and want to be a mentor who can give some love."

Even though his philosophy to think of the social interest eagerly, he underwent an ordeal. Last August, the MBC reported a fake energy saver and it affected his company hugely. However, with customers' consistent support and trust for 'Anyhome Saver', his company is still growing up.

According to him, it was totally not true that MBC reported 'Anyhome Saver'was not working almost at all, so they withdrew the device, although it was about 12∼15%of saving the energy in the result for 14 days from April 17 to 30 out of 6 under agreement with 'E' distribution mart. He said that he has an objective evidence to show a measurement sheet after and before using the energy saver. In addition, he expressed his regret by that. "It is very irresponsible for the national broadcasting station to report without any confirmation with a manufacturer, at least. For that missing of 'right of reply' and that report without any completion, one decent company like his had a hard time and by that, he said that kind of thing will never happen again.

CEO Kim, Gwan-Soo of ANYHOMES Co. Ltd is currently preparing for another leap. His company got the International Green Mark prize and the Creative Businessman prize from an event hosted by the Ministry of Future Creative Science and the Association OF Future Creation Convergence on last October 7 and also got only invited as a small company to 2013 Korea Energy Contest at COEX on last 16 again, which was hosted by the Ministry of trade industry and energy. With that consequence, his company is ready to go out to the world market such as Eastern-South Asian countries, Vietnam and Americas by building up some factories in the local area to import.
