The European Parliament adopted on December 13, a resolution demanding that Japan should apologize to and compensate womenwho regardedas sex slaves before and during World War II.
The resolution passed with 54 ayes out of 57 members present, marking the fourth time that foreign countries have held Japan accountable for the "comfort women" and pressed for an official apology.
Meanwhile, A similar resolution was passed by the U.S. House in July, and the Netherlands and Canadian lower houses last month.
