Korea’s third-largest city of Incheon will hold the world’s first World City Expo in 2009.
With the event about one and a half years away, now the preparation is in full swing to host a successful World City Expo, which will be heldfrom August 7 to October 2, next year.
According to an organizer, Incheon city, under the theme "A City with Dreams," the Expo will be held in and around Incheon, including the 500,000-square-meter (5.4 million square feet) main exhibition center in Songdo, a district in the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
'Exhibitions and events are planned around the U-City promotional booth, the New Songdo City business district, Songdo Convensia (convention center), Central Park and other parts of the city' said Incheoncity.
'Regarding financial source, perhapsits budget is 199.4 billion won ($219.8 million), and will be spent to show visitors what a futuristic should be like' they added.
