South Korea's Foreign Minister Song Min-soon said November 8 that he discussed with his U.S. counterpart the incentives and actions for next year in implementing North Korea's denuclearization.
And at meeting South Korean reporters, Minister Song reaffirmed his remarks a day earlier that the two countries would consider having leaders of relevant countries show their commitment to Korea's denuclearization in a formal manner.
Regarding North Korea's disablement of nuclear projects, "The key here is denuclearization," said Song. "We will focus on the incentives as long as we would give, how to give them, and during this process begin the peace treaty talks at an appropriate point."
Song also talked about giving the denuclearization process a "political thrust" by having top leaders reaffirming their commitments.
"We agreed to continue to review the issue of expressing the political will at the top level if relevant countries decidefor ourneed of the political thrust to expedite the denuclearization," the foreign minister added it.
