Oh Se-hoon, Seoul City's Mayor started the HRP to turn the Hangang into the city’s most representative attraction instead of just a place for rest and recreation.
The HRProadmap has focused onhow the city government intends to turn the river into an easily recognizable landmark and popular tourist attraction.
According to the HRP master plan announced in September, Seoul is injecting 670 billion won into 37 projects. The projects are scheduled to be complete by 2010, the last year of Oh’s tenure.
The HRRP mainly aims to achieve better access to the Hangang, make the riverside an eco-friendly environment, turn the river into a cultural asset, enhance lighting of the river bridges and activate maritime routes along the river.

서울시는 2010년까지6700억원을 37개 프로젝트에 투자, 한강 르네상스를 완성한다는 계획이다.
이명박 전 서울시장의 청계천 복원에 이어, 오세훈 시장의 한강 르네상스 프로젝트가 완성되면, 서울은 새로운 모습으로 제2의 전성기를 가지게 된다.
